About Me

What i stand for…

Quiet Glimpse Photography is about offering a glimpse into your world, during one of its greatest celebrations. I created it with the focus of capturing images that were real to the couple experiencing them. Photography, to me, is an art that requires intention and care to make something worthwhile. I care very much for people and their stories.

In this short behind-the-scenes video, I explain a little of what guides me and why I take a specific approach when behind the camera.

  • Hey there, my name’s Dan and I'm a storyteller, nice to meet you!

This is where I break things down and introduce who I am and what I’m about when it comes to photography. Well, to start off, I was once in a similar position as you are now - planning my wedding and losing my mind a little bit (huge understatement). There were so many options when it came to choosing vendors that it seemed overwhelming at times. Deciding on a wedding photographer was no different.

I know, for my wife and I, we wanted our images to show our true selves and capture our story as it unfolded throughout the day. For the most part things went off without a hitch and it was incredible! After seeing what it was like on the other side of the camera it became very clear what I wanted to focus on with my couples.

You see, I’ve always believed that it’s the little things that make us who we are - the small details that separate us from every other person out there. On such an important event as your wedding, I want to make sure that I capture the subtle details that are specific to you and your partner and bring about a cohesive story that is authentic and full of life.

This is my focus behind Quiet Glimpse Photography - to capture honest moments that are telling of the two of you. I want you to look back at your photographs and feel the excitement you felt walking down the aisle or sneaking up on your partner during the First Look. I want your photographs to live on as reminders, not only of the day but, of the emotions you felt during those moments.

My Process to the REAL You

No Cookie Cutters

Your relationship is far too important to squeeze into some one-size-fits-all mold. It’s important that your images truly represent who you are and to do that I need to learn a lot about you before your big day. Your story is different from all the others out there and that’s a good thing. Make sure the subtleties of your celebration are captured along the way.

Forced Poses are Lame

When you look through your album I want you to feel incredible and it’s hard to do that when you’re asked to do things that just aren’t you. When it comes to arranging my couples I prefer to “Direct” rather than “Pose.” By offering prompts (sometimes ridiculous in nature) I’m able to produce images that feel natural to the couple and their relationship.

Comfortability

There’s no way around it - in order to have the best outcome you need to feel comfortable. I have a super easy-going personality and a calm demeanor which means when I walk into your wedding I’m acting more like a close friend than a typical vendor. This comfort creates a deeper level of trust which can clearly be seen in the moments we capture together.

Have a Blast

Being photographed should be an extremely fun experience! Your photographer is going to be by your side through it all and a fun-loving personality makes everything that much better. Whenever possible, I blend in with the guests and will cheer my couples on during the first kiss, make dj requests and join conga lines when available (seriously, please have one available).

Forget your Worries

Weddings consist of a lot of moving parts and the last thing you’ll want to add to your list is worrying about your photographer. I take the role I play very seriously and pride myself on my professionalism and attention to detail. It’s really important to me that you and your partner enjoy your day to the fullest. No need to worry about me and my responsibilities - I’ve got this.

timeless Imagery

There are lots of different ways to process images and they all have their own pros and cons. I edit my work in true-to-life color which means I edit each session to accurately depict the colors I saw while photographing. I believe this style of editing will hold up to the test of time as it doesn’t rely on current trends that may not be flattering later on down the road.
