Taylor & Jonny at Cardigan Mountain State Park, NH

Engaged couple smiling at each other in nature

To start, I was so excited when Taylor reached out to say she was engaged! You see, Taylor teaches music at the school I used to teach visual arts at so we are far from strangers. Through all the department meetings and random chats you get to know people’s personality quite a bit and she definitely has a fun energy she brings to whatever she does. In our initial consult, I learned a bit about her partner, Jonny, who is also a musician and teacher. Once we talked about their shared love of hiking it was clear that this engagement session had to take place out in nature.

With lots of choices around them they settled on Cardigan Mountain State Park which offered a good amount of color early in the fall. We walked a trail that was new to them and found some amazing spots to pause and take in the beauty around us. While they initially thought they would need a lot of direction, I found myself using my typical process of prompting and letting them do the rest. Everything was very fluid with one image leading organically to the next. It was so cool to play a part in their journey - definitely an awesome experience from beginning to end!
